17th Ave has long been known for its diversity of restaurants, lounges and pubs. Since the summer, quite a few new eateries have joined the ranks of Brava Bistro, Una Pizza & Wine and the The Living Room. Here are a few of our favourite newbies in and around Drake's hood:
Cibo (www.cibocalgary.com) 1012 17 Ave SW
Since opening a couple of months ago, Cibo has been a popular place for those looking for savoury Italian eats with a menu that changes seasonally. Open 11am - 3pm for lunch, 5-late for dinner, or pop by for $5 pizza happy hour from 3-5pm.

Providing a 'farm to plate' concept, this hot new restaurant features high quality local food and fresh ingredients at prices that won't break the bank. There's also an extensive and eclectic wine list. Open for lunch, dinner and late night.

Translated literally into 'flame' in Spanish, enjoy unique tapas and sumptious cocktails. Many plates are under $10 and if you want to go 'traditional', eat standing up at the bar!
