Learning at WCHS

Western_canada_high_school_1

We value lifelong education and learning and that’s why we’re thrilled to be located just steps away from the acclaimed Western Canada High School (WCHS). Since 1903 this school has honoured its tradition of excellence following its school motto of Intelligentia, Vires, Virtus – Understanding, Strength, Courage.

The WCHS offers a complete range of programs for Grades 10 through 12, including French Immersion and Spanish, as well as Honors and International Baccalaureate Programs in both English and French. There is also an extensive fine arts program with opportunities in drama, art, choral, jazz and concert band as well as the CBE Fine Arts Certificate. In fact, the Grade 10 Concert Band, Grade 11 Symphonic Band and Grade 12 Wind Ensemble all recently won Gold Awards in their respective categories at the Alberta International Band Festival at the end of February.

The school covers a full city block at 641-17 Ave SW and features over 70 classrooms, 2 gymnasiums, a theatre, library and a number of computer labs. For more information email WesternCanada@cbe.ab.ca or call 403-228-5363.
